✨Golden Touches & Green Magic: Behind the Monarch Butterfly Design🦋

Today I want to show you a kind of detail I like to add every now and then to some of my designs 🪡✨ In this case, it’s the Monarch Butterfly—one of my latest releases inspired by my beloved Art Nouveau style.

In this case, it’s about little golden pieces that are flat on the back and that I glue onto the fabric once the stitching is finished. It’s a bit risky, because you have to be very precise with placement—they’ll stay fixed on the fabric (unlike sewn-on beads, which are easier to remove and which I also love using).

Over the years, I’ve expanded my little artistic hoarder collection 😂 so whenever I get the chance, I add to my stash of beads and tiny pieces that might come in handy for future patterns!

In this piece, you can also see I used DMC Mouliné Spécial shade 92 for the green areas. This is another one of my “tricks”: using variegated threads for large color blocks—like the green in this case—or for cross stitch lettering. It makes the final result so much more vibrant and dynamic! 🌈🧵

I hope you like how it turned out!✨
