About Me
✨ 𝐀 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐦𝐞!
My name’s Marta. I’m from Barcelona, Spain.
I live with two cats: Lucy and Wendy. They’re sisters.
Me? Only child.
Maybe that’s why, as a kid, I survived boredom by making up worlds out of whatever I could find.
Give me a pencil and a folded piece of paper, and I’d have characters, stories, adventures.
I’d bind them together (badly) with tape and staples, and my mom would lovingly store them… somewhere out of sight.
I started embroidering when I was about five.
My first pattern was a cross-stitched airplane.
When I finished it, I gave it to my aunt as a Christmas present.
She proceeded to point out every single flaw with surgical precision.
I haven’t stitched a plane since.
And to be honest, I don’t invite my aunt over for Christmas anymore either.
A book that shaped my childhood? Harry Potter.
A show? Gilmore Girls.
I’m obsessed with fast dialogue and Lorelai.
Also a big fan of Terry Pratchett, Tim Burton, rock and heavy metal, Art Nouveau, the Victorian era, classical mythology, the Middle Ages, gothic style, videogames and real, authentic people.
My work is, inevitably, a reflection of this slightly chaotic, tangled mess of passions.
And I’m sure I’m forgetting a bunch of stuff.
But hey! if you stick around, you’ll probably end up hearing about it anyway.
If you enjoy embroidery with a touch of mystery, darkness, and beauty… you’ve found your place.
Thanks for being here!
Marta.
